Who Am I?

Me at the Mud VolcanoesThis always gets the same response. Someday you will have to join the “Real World.” I have never understood this. There is no such thing as the “real world.” Everyone’s life is different based on the choices they have made to bring them to where they are. They chose to settle into a job the either love/hate. They chose to get married and find a house/apartment. They chose to have children, have toys (i.e. boats and cars and the such). This is the world they have chosen.

Why is it then so wrong for me to wish to live a life of adventure, and throwing caution to the wind. It is the life I choose to have. I have been told that I am, unique, weird, or wonderful because of my love of travel. It depends greatly on who you speak to (more often weird than wonderful). I love to go backpacking and see the world. My dream is to see every country in the world. I love the backpacker lifestyle too. I am not a minimalist by any means, but I definitely am not a fan of living life with a tonne of useless toys either. I guess my dream life would be one full of adventure, excitement, and never-ending stories.

  1. I’ve known you for more than 20 years and I can honestly say yes, you’re both weird AND wonderful. I love the fact that you have courage to live “out there” on the edge, at times, where most of us never venture and are envious of your resulting adventures. I love your take on things.
